Good News Clubs
Now, more than ever, children need the Gospel.
Many unchurched families in Vermont have no legacy of faith to pass on to their children. Child Evangelism Fellowship of Vermont exists to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God, and establish them in a local church.
Meeting Children Where They Are
Good News Clubs meet children right where they are—after school in public schools (yes, schools!), churches, community centers, and neighborhood homes across Vermont.
Each week, screened and trained teachers lead exciting, action-packed clubs using Bible lessons, songs, Scripture memory, missions stories, and review games. Children hear the timeless truths of God’s Word, and many come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Can We Teach the Bible in Public Schools?
Yes. In Good News Clubs v. Milford Central School (2001), the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Good News Clubs may meet in public schools after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. Attendance is voluntary, and children participate only with their parents’ permission.
What Good News Club Does for a Community?
A Good News Club provides a safe, caring place for children, teaches biblical morality, builds positive community relationships, and connects families to local churches. Homes, schools, and community spaces throughout Vermont are all effective locations for clubs.
How You Can Be Involved?
Good News Clubs only happen because people step forward to serve.
You can:
- Help organize or teach a club
- Pray for children, families, and volunteers
- Support the training and equipping of teachers
Through Good News Clubs, CEF of Vermont currently reaches children through 3 clubs. By 2032, we are prayerfully trusting God to establish 32 Good News Clubs across the state.
